STEM MASTERING

Stem Mastering

When your mix is already there but it just needs some extra

Is the vibe already there and you need some extra mojo? Stem Mastering can be the thing for you. By having the separate groups to our disposal we will have more influence compared to the usual stereo mastering proces.

By running it through our analog equipment we get a more cohesive sounding song with solid and vibrant experience.

As with the normal mastering proces we aim for a dynamic, impactful and energetic master with a hybrid process between analog and software.

You get:
- Optimised version for streaming
- Feedback on your mix
- Unlimited revision
- Free master of a different version of your song (Live edit, Radio edit etc)
- Hybrid between analog and software processing

  • So how does is work?

    Delivery specifications

    File format: .Wav or .Aiff

Sample rate: Keep it at the source sample rate (44.1 - 192kHz)

Bit Rate: 24 bits or higher

Before starting at the export of the stems, first export your own mix (or master) and include it in the package. We’ll be using this as a reference.

Create groups, make sure to separate at least the following stems:

    - Drums

    - Percussion

    - Bass/ 808's

    - Instruments

    - Vocals

    - Sound Effects (Risers, producer tag, impacts etc)

Label all the stems so we can all understand it.

Make sure that the stems on all the channels are safe (below -1dBFS, TP).

Export all the stems. Make sure to include automation in the export and turn off normalisation.

A correct stem export has to sound like your mix when playing back all the stems with all the

    faders at 0dB

ZIP or RAR all the files per song.

We’ll make sure to check the files when they arrive and let you know if everything is okay. It could happen that, while processing, we discover something for which we need a different file export. We’ll always contact you to discuss this.
